Cleaning Tips,  Organization

Just signed a lease for 2020? Here’s how to stay organized while moving.

Whether you’re moving in or out of a new space, staying organized can be tough. We’ve put together the following tips to help you move efficiently and start to enjoy your new home sooner:

Pack with purpose

Do not just throw items into a box and call it a day! This may speed up your packing process, but it will prolong the unpacking portion of your move and may cause unnecessary stress. Instead, think ahead while grouping items together and make sure to label what is in each box and which room they belong in. For example, keep your bedding packed together and label the boxes with “Master Bedroom Box 1 of 5.” That way, you’ll know exactly what is in each box as well as where in the house they should be placed to make unpacking easier.

Phone a friend

Moving on your own can be difficult, but enlisting the help of a few friends or family members can help ease the process. If you have several volunteers, consider giving each friend a specific job to do so that you can keep yourself organized. For example, one friend can be in charge of watching your vehicle and items while others are assigned to moving the boxes. That way, confusion will be minimized and your friends won’t add to the chaos.

Empty doesn’t mean clean

Many lease agreements require the tenant moving out to leave the space clean. Moreover, most people want to move into a space that is already clean. Luckily, Two Maids & A Mop’s empty home move in/out cleaning package is perfect for the home owner who needs a completely empty home, apartment or condo cleaned. Plus, in the case of an apartment or condo, we are often able to work directly with your property manager to determine the cleaning requirements necessary to receive your full security deposit. Whether you’re moving out or in, give your closest Two Maids & A Mop a call to ensure a clean home.
